Update/Renovate to Sell

Marketing your property effectively can bring in buyers from throughout the Puget Sound area – and beyond! Our area is unique and has wide appeal, so the wider we can make the buyer pool for your property, the more competition and the higher your net proceeds. Although each home is different and requires a custom approach, below is an overview of what you can expect:

If you are thinking about selling, you are probably wanting to get top dollar. But did you know that top dollar is a moving target? Some sellers don’t have time on their side and only have a weekend of cleaning available before their home hits the market. Other sellers have time to plan and be strategic with their home prep checklist with the goal of yielding maximum dollars with an investment of time or money.

There are many things I can help you plan for to make your home market ready and it is up to you what projects you take on. Once you have decided to sell, I like to do a Home Condition Report which includes touring your home with you and making a list of recommended corrections. This will address minor things such as moving certain items to storage, mid-level items such as applying a new coat of paint, and perhaps even major items such as a bathroom renovation.

These recommendations are strategic. For example, if updating flooring will cost $5,000 but we only expect to get $5,000 more for the property, that wouldn’t be a project that I would recommend taking on.

Compass Concierge Program 

Depending on the fixes you want to take on, the Compass Concierge Program will fund these projects with the payment coming out of the closing dollars. Compass Concierge Program dollars can be used for:
